Refund Policy

1. Our Commitment

We want you to be completely satisfied with your ColorMeBooks order. This policy explains your rights regarding refunds and returns for both digital content generation and physical book orders.

2. Digital Content (Book Generation)

2.1 Free Preview Before Purchase

You can generate and preview your entire coloring book for free before ordering a physical copy. This allows you to:

  • Review all generated pages
  • Regenerate individual pages if needed
  • Make changes before placing an order

By previewing your book first, you ensure you're happy with the content before purchasing.

2.2 No Refunds for Digital Generation

Since you have full preview capability before ordering, we do not offer refunds for the digital generation service itself. You can:

  • Generate as many books as you like for free
  • Only pay when you order a physical print
  • Delete books you don't want

3. Physical Book Orders

3.1 Cancellation Before Printing

You may cancel your order for a full refund if:

  • You cancel within 2 hours of placing the order
  • Your book has not yet been sent to our printing partner

To cancel, contact us immediately with your order number.

Please note: Once production begins (typically within 2-24 hours), we cannot cancel the order.

3.2 UK/EU Consumer Rights (14-Day Cooling Off Period)

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you typically have a 14-day right to cancel online purchases. However, this right does not apply to:

  • Personalized or custom-made goods (which your book is)
  • Goods sealed in packaging that cannot be returned for hygiene or health protection reasons

As stated in the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and EU Consumer Rights Directive, custom-made books are exempt from the cooling-off period.

However, if your book arrives with printing defects or damage, you are entitled to a replacement or refund (see section 3.3).

3.3 Printing Defects or Damage

If your book arrives with any of the following issues, we will provide a free replacement or full refund:

  • Printing errors (misprints, incorrect colors, missing pages)
  • Binding defects (pages falling out, poor binding quality)
  • Damage during shipping (bent, torn, or crushed books)
  • Incorrect book shipped

How to Report an Issue:

  1. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your book
  2. Contact us with:
    • Your order number
    • Photos clearly showing the defect or damage
    • Description of the issue
  3. We will review and respond within 2 business days
  4. If approved, we'll send a replacement or process a refund

3.4 No Refunds for Change of Mind

Since you have the opportunity to fully preview your book before ordering, we cannot offer refunds for:

  • Change of mind after delivery
  • Dissatisfaction with the AI-generated content you approved
  • Personal preference for different styling
  • Buyer's remorse

Tip: Always carefully review all pages before placing your order!

4. Lost or Undelivered Orders

4.1 Tracking Your Order

All orders include tracking. You will receive:

  • Order confirmation email (immediately after purchase)
  • Shipping notification with tracking number (when book ships)
  • Delivery confirmation (when delivered)

4.2 Lost in Transit

If your book is lost during shipping:

  • Contact us if your book hasn't arrived within the estimated delivery timeframe + 5 business days
  • We will investigate with the shipping carrier
  • If confirmed lost, we will send a replacement at no cost

4.3 Incorrect Address

You are responsible for providing the correct shipping address. We cannot be held responsible for:

  • Books delivered to an incorrect address you provided
  • Delivery failures due to incomplete or inaccurate addresses
  • Returned packages due to incorrect addresses

If a package is returned to sender due to an incorrect address, you may be charged for reshipping.

5. Refund Process

5.1 How Refunds Are Processed

Approved refunds will be processed as follows:

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method
  • Processing time: 5-10 business days from approval
  • Your bank may take an additional 3-5 business days to show the credit

5.2 Partial Refunds

In some cases, we may offer a partial refund for:

  • Minor defects that don't significantly affect the book's usability
  • Late delivery (compensation for inconvenience)
  • Other issues resolved through negotiation

5.3 Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are:

  • Refundable: If the fault is ours (printing defect, wrong item, damaged in transit)
  • Non-refundable: If you cancel after shipping or for change of mind (where applicable)

6. Returns

6.1 Return Shipping

In most cases, you do not need to return defective books. If we do request a return:

  • We will provide return shipping instructions
  • We will cover return shipping costs for defective items
  • You must ship within 14 days of our approval

6.2 Disposal Authorization

For defective books, we may authorize you to dispose of the item locally rather than return it, provided you supply photos as evidence.

7. Exceptional Circumstances

We may offer refunds or replacements in exceptional circumstances not covered by this policy, at our sole discretion. Please contact us to discuss your situation.
